Many centers have youth programs where youth aged 3-18 can bowl league and possibly earn scholarships. Majority of these programs are held on Saturday mornings. Best to inquire with each center. Many leagues have coaches to help the kids and some programs participate in local and state tournaments.
USBC CERTIFIED LEAGUES

USBC Youth bowling is a unique opportunity to get involved with a lifetime sport.
USBC Youth bowling has membership options designed to meet the needs of all youth bowlers. More than $6 million in annual scholarships are awarded to youth bowlers each season based on academic, leadership and on-lane performances. USBC Youth provides opportunities for coaching and instruction, fun and friendly competition, fair play, teamwork, and leadership development.
Memberships
USBC Youth features one National membership with two upgrade options: U12 Junior Gold ($10) & U15/U18 Junior Gold ($30).
YOUTH STANDARD MEMBERSHIP:
USBC Youth membership is available to individuals who have not reached their 18th birthday prior to August 1 of the current bowling season. USBC Youth members are required to pay a membership fee. Contact your local association to find out the cost as each association is different. Associations and centers may charge a service fee in addition to the membership for those bowling in a USBC youth league. USBC Youth members who turn 18 during the bowling season may complete that season as a youth member, however, if they are participating in a league with minors, they must complete SafeSport.
Membership includes:
- A USBC-USBC certified average
- A USBC membership card
- The ability to access the Find A Member feature on BOWL.com
- The ability to participate in USBC-certified competitions
- The ability to apply for USBC scholarships
- Eligible to purchase USBC High Score awards (11-in-a-Row, 300 Game and 800 Series)
Upgrade to Junior Gold – Youth Membership
The USBC Junior Gold membership will be available to all youth who have a current season Standard youth membership and maintain compliance with Rule 400.
(additional $10) U12 Membership
(additional $30) U15/U18 membership
Both upgrades receive:

- Opportunity to compete in the Junior Gold Championships qualifiers

SPECIAL OLYMPICS:
USBC members with intellectual disabilities, 18 and older, who qualify for Special Olympics may continue to participate in certified youth leagues (if the league rules allow for that). They would be processed as USBC Special Olympics members and they would be exempt from completing the required SafeSport training. The bowler must pay for membership with the local association. A bowler with intellectual disabilities who is no longer eligible for USBC Youth membership must hold a Special Olympics membership in order to bowl in USBC Youth competitions and must remain compliant with Rule 400. Some associations may required a doctor’s note.
