JENNIFER LOREDO from Fresno is one of two recipients for this year’s award. Jennifer is a 3.5 GPA freshman attending Clovis West High School. Her aspirations are to open her own business so a college education in business administration and management is a must. She is looking into Wichita State, Webber International, McKendree University, Stephen F. Austin, Vanderbilt University, and Nebraska State University – all bowling colleges of course! Julia has many youth bowling titles such as 2014 Diddy Watts Youth State Singles Challenge; 2016 Pepsi District #4 Finals; 2016 Pepsi State Finals U15 Girls and most recently the California State Singles Women’s 176 & above division (this was an adult event!). She hopes to one day be a part of the PWBA and an inspiration to the future of our sport. Her goals are to win a US Open title, a PWBA title and be on Team USA. Jennifer is also a Level I Certified coach.
MEGAN CARPENTER hails from San Diego and is currently a 3.6 GPA senior attending Torrey Pines High School. Megan started bowling when she was 5 years old and has bowled in 9 local city tournaments, 7 Pepsi Championships, held office of President and Vice President in her youth league and has attended the State Convention as delegate once. She has been bowling for 12 years, has a 196 average and a high scratch series of 735. Megan’s goal is to attend a university studying biology and bowl on a collegiate team. She wants to continue and get her Masters and teaching credential so that she can teach high school Biology. Megan says “No matter where I go to college and settle down to teach, I will continue the same activities I do now, including league bowling, serving on the board of the local USBC Association, and giving back to the youth through education and coaching.”
We have two great winners this year. We wish them both the best in their continued education and bowling achievements.
